Villages lit up
In the villages of Malawi, the lack of essential infrastructure makes life challenging, and the absence of lighting is one of the biggest hurdles. Dark nights hinder vital activities like studying, working, and safety, especially for women and children.
Piantando’s Light up project aims to change this reality by installing solar streetlights. These lamps improve safety, extend working hours, and provide a sustainable, reliable light source for local communities.
By registering the unique code you receive after purchase, you’ll get a digital certificate with all the details:
the geolocation of the lit village
information about the village and how many inhabitants live there
receive updates on the project and future activities
We select villages to be lit based on population, lack of electrical lighting, and distance from other already lit areas.
After identifying the village, we purchase the solar lamps, select a local team for installation, and arrange transport and positioning.
After installation, we activate the lamps by setting up the solar panels and lighting systems to ensure proper operation and efficiency.
Finally, we regularly monitor the lamps, providing periodic maintenance and replacing any parts to ensure consistent and reliable lighting.
