We are creating a nature reserve in Abruzzo, restoring an area at risk of fires, runoff, and drought.
The Silva project by Piantando aims to restore abandoned or degraded land, previously used for intensive farming, to safeguard the ecosystem and biodiversity.
The reserve is located in Abruzzo, in an area identified as at risk by the Ministry of the Environment due to desertification and loss of vegetation.
We guarantee all activities that take place under our control, managing the entire chain: from feasibility studies to operations and long-term maintenance.
Along with tree planting and vegetation maintenance, we have introduced biodiversity conservation activities within the Silva reserve, aimed at monitoring and recording the area’s wildlife.
We’ve installed a video surveillance system that broadcasts real-time images of wildlife passing through, such as foxes, roe deer, porcupines, and hares.
Through the Bird House project, we install artificial nests to combat the loss of natural habitats and provide nesting sites for great tits during the breeding season.
We identified an at-risk area and developed a recovery plan.
Through Piantando, we fund the entire initiative, from feasibility studies to operations and long-term monitoring.
We restore the area, creating a protected reserve for the community and safeguarding biodiversity.
We analyze data to keep track of the actual impact generated by our work.
